IBM to Acquire Solid

Partner Solutions

Solid and IBM have entered into an IBM ISV Teaming Agreement. Under the agreement, Solid and IBM are developing integrated solutions that include solidDB, IBM DB2 and Informix, as well as a deeper go-to-market plan with increased support from IBM. IBM also identified solidDB 6 as a strategic solution for the telecommunications industry.

Solid and IBM have completed a joint proof-of-concept integrating solidDB 6's in-memory engine with IBM DB2, and demonstrated it at the IBM PartnerWorld 2007 conference.

Fixed-mobile convergence solution from BridgePort, Solid, IBM, GoAhead, and AMD
Learn more about how Solid teamed with other industry leaders to produce a solution that premiered at the 2007 CTIA event in Orlando, FL. The solution showed failover between servers under high call load on the BridgePort Networks' NomadicONE™ Network Convergence Gateway (NCG), with high availability and management middleware from GoAhead Software and the full featured in-memory relational database from Solid running on next generation networks provided by IBM BladeCenter™.

AMD64 Multi-Core Computing Platforms and solidDB enable consolidated approach to subscriber databases and related applications
With solidDB and AMD64 Multi-Core Processors, system architects can consider a new, consolidated approach to subscriber databases and related applications. In this new approach, the applications are run in the same multi-core/multi-processor system, together with the database server.

SUN and Solid Enable High Performance HLR Solutions
Sun's paper highlights the strengths and capabilities of the ATCA platform and points out how ATCA solutions provide a high performance platform to address some of the key issues faced by Home Location Register (HLR) operators. This analysis is based on a study performed on Sun SPARC/Solaris-based ATCA computing blades, using Sun's robust, carrier grade middleware, Netra™ High Availability Suite, integrated with Solid's in-memory carrier grade database. HLR scenarios were simulated using the Telecom One (TM1) benchmark. The study demonstrates how scalability, high performance, and reliability were achieved.

Telecom One (TM1) database benckmark with Solid and Linux featured at Embedded Systems Conference
During the Embedded Systems Conference 2007 in San Jose, CA, Solid and Wind River teamed up to present the Telecom One (TM1) database benchmark with solidDB running on Linux. In addition Solid and Sun Microsystems demonstrated how the hot-standby configuration of solidDB delivers up to six-nines (99.9999%) high availability.
